Mastercoin Foundation is growing and beyond hiring developers we have a need for two other people who will work to on-board new developers into the Master Protocol ecosystem as well as ensure that we are managing the feedback from stakeholders for the software that Mastercoin Foundation funds.  The roles of Developer Evangelist and Product Manager are critical for this.

Furthermore, it is clear that Master Protocol and Bitcoin can some day function as a transaction technology for regulated financial securities, so long as there is development and nurturing of the technology and service provider ecosystem which would enable complying with securities regulations.  Thus, in order to further engagement with businesses in the finance and banking sectors who are starting the process of integrating the recent crowd funding rules in the USA, and to ensure that we are able to engage with the regulatory officer counterparts at those businesses as well as regulatory bodies, we are seeking someone that can take on the role of Regulatory Engagement Officer.

The first two positions will work hand in hand with not only the development team on our specification and product requirements but will ensure that we have the capability to execute on our goal of evangelizing the Master Protocol platform. The third role will work with the business development and product management functions to ensure that we are educating stakeholders on the regulatory side as well as regulatory counterparts at business about how the Master Protocol operates, and taking in feedback on technology and service gaps that need to be filled in order to provide as much automation as possible either via the Master Protocol or via a service oriented enabled by the Master Protocol.

Director, Developer Relations / Platform Evangelist – Immediate Need

Beyond what is described above you will primarily be present at and help facilitate hackathons that Mastercoin Foundation is setting up or sponsoring around the world.  You will work virtually with entrepreneur/developer groups around the world who need guidance and technical assistance on how to use the Master Protocol for their applications. You will nurture relationships at a technical level with developers who already use Master Protocol to ensure that they are making the most of it, and work with the product management function to ensure that developer needs are represented. Lastly, you will work closely with our business development function to cultivate relationships with developers building services businesses (exchanges, ATMs, wallets, games, etc.) in the Bitcoin space to ensure that the benefits of incorporating Master Protocol are considered.

• Cultivate relationships with developers in our ecosystem and represent their needs.
• Help structure, organize and run Mastercoin hackathons and developer events.

Director, Product Management – Q3 2014

Beyond what is described above this position requires someone that is super enthusiastic about changing how we conduct eCommerce in the future.  You want to bring tons of passion and organization skills to gathering and communicating the requirements for a few technologies that Mastercoin Foundation funds such as Omni wallet / Mastercoin-Tools, Masterchest Wallet as well as other wallets.  You will get down and dirty in gathering protocol level requirements from stakeholders, as well as help shape the user experience with our Web Team Lead and Lead Designer by ensuring that we are able to collect information from users, and also collect information and needs from developers (exchanges, ATM netwworks, wallet sites, distributed app’s, etc) using our server applications to ensure that they fit the needs for their technology operations.

What are you doing?

• Gathering & documenting detailed product requirements and enhancements, based on a solid understanding of the current specification and technology.
• Writing product specifications, user stories and working with designers, and engineers to define new features.
• Ensure that we are delivering these features to market and tracking the impact
• Lead the generation of user, operational and developer documentation and blogs
• Collect feedback from users, operators/sysadmin’s and developers on how Master Protocol applications can improve
• Attend hackathons, conferences and meetups around the world to understand new requirements.
• Cultivate relationships the business side in our ecosystem and represent their needs.
• Engage the broader community to gather data points on new requirements and to gauge priority

Regulatory Engagement Officer – Q4 2014

You have perhaps spent many decades working with financial regulators and regulatory compliance officers at financial institutions.  In particular you are interested in how JOBS Act will be implemented, you may have experience with regulations around KYC as well as SEC and related state-level regulations.  You have been and are interested in working with regulators to educate them about how Master Protocol technology may be utilized to provide a system for transparently conducting regulated securities transactions where regulatory burdens can be shared much like with cooperatives to ease financial burden yet achieve regulatory goals.

You will also work closely with our product management function to incorporate the feedback from regulatory stakeholders and our business development function to understand the needs of businesses in the financial sector which need to be either addressed my the Master Protocol or my development of Master Protocol platform partners that would provide integral services needed for businesses in the financial sector to integrate and make use of Master Protocol enabled technologies.

What are you doing?

• Engaging legislators and regulators and informing them about how p2p technologies like Master Protocol can be utilized to save on enforcement costs and reduce complexity with banking and finance services and products
• Cooperating with compliance and regulatory officers in the financial sector to gather requirements as well as educating them about how p2p technologies and Master Protocol can be used to lower compliance costs
• Engaging target groups and associations within the finance and legal sector to understand how distributed applications can be built to enable them to participate in distributed commerce
